Contemporary Plant Holder
Inspired in form by the the Neolithic ceramics of Ancient Asia, this piece takes an unusual twist. The details depicted on the outside of this pot are representative of the organs and arteries in the human anatomy. The subdued colors are also representative of this, while the brighter greens represent the surprising colors the human form can produce, such as the vibrant orange found in a child's hair, or the green specs seen only when you stare intently into the eyes of someone close.
Pisces Dream Catcher
This project plays with the concepts of asymmetrical design, placing the fish off center, while everything else in the composition is symmetrical. In astrology, the pisces symbol demonstrates the concept of the joining of soul and form, so the lone fish on the dreamcatcher connects with the soul fish in the dreamer. The line work of the strings further mimic the star alignment the two fish have in the universe.
This piece is a themed piece for a bathroom, designed and carved by hand. Symmetrical concepts were used for this while the palm tree and totem pole add whimsical visual interest.
